Charlevoix Main Street (CMS) recently sat down with The Lake House owner, Darsi Lee, and the cutest dog ever, Ella, to talk about the business and learn more about what makes this shop so special.
CMS: Tell me a little bit about your business.

CMS: Why did you want to be a small business owner?
I love retail and owning my own small business has always been a dream.
CMS: Why did you choose to open a business downtown Charlevoix?
I grew up in Charlevoix. This town has my heart. It’s a great community, the downtown merchants work well together and knew it would be a great fit.
CMS: What do you enjoy most about living and working in the Charlevoix area?
I love the small town feel. I love you can walk down the street and know most of the people walking by. We are blessed with beautiful scenery, incredible lakes and breathtaking sunsets.
CMS: What is something unique about your store/business?
We try and cater to just about everyone. Whether you need a wedding gift, a souvenir to bring home, something for your home or favorite pet, or something custom, we’ll have something you’ll love.
CMS: How would you describe downtown Charlevoix?
Charlevoix is the gem of Northern Michigan. A quaint little town surrounded by Lakes, beaches, trails and the most amazing sunsets. The beauty of Charlevoix is like no other.
CMS: How has Main Street helped your business?
Main Street has helped keep us up to date with new and innovative ways to do business. Always helpful with information.
CMS: What’s your favorite thing about your business?
I love our customers. We truly are blessed with the people that walk through our door.
CMS: What’s your favorite Charlevoix event?
I love Applefest. It’s kind of the last hurrah before our busy selling season ends. It’s fall, people are here to shop and enjoy a Charlevoix the Beautiful weekend.
