Harbor Master Building Hours

Starting Friday June 4 until Thursday June 17, the office will be open 8AM - 6PM

Starting June 18 through July the office will be open 8AM -  8PM

The 69 slip Charlevoix City Marina, located at the base of East Park in downtown Charlevoix, is equipped with: 

  • A boaters' lounge
  • Floating docks
  • Laundry facilities
  • Restrooms

Other services are provided by Ward Brothers' Boats, located adjacent to the marina, including:

  • Diesel and gasoline
  • Marine repairs
  • Marine supplies
  • Pump-outs

Slip Reservations

Slip reservations can be made by using the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Reservation System, or by calling 800-447-2757. Slip availability may be very limited throughout the summer months due to festivals and events in downtown Charlevoix, and no reservations are available during the final four days of the Venetian Festival. Please note: There are dates throughout the summer where events are held that impact our marina, and slip availability. These dates are June 11 - 16 (Trout Tournament and Bay Harbor Shake Down), July 10 - 11 (Boyne Thunder), July 17 - 24 (Venetian Festival), and August 1 - 4 (Grosse Pointe Yacht Club).  Slip availability will be limited or unavailable.

For general questions, or more information on docking facilities, contact the Harbormaster (or any of his staff) at 231-547-3272 during the boating season. For those on the water, the marina monitors VHF channel 09 only. Off season inquiries may be directed to 231-547-3253.

Seasonal Dockage

The City of Charlevoix offers seasonal dockage for dinghies and jet skis at the marina.

The City of Charlevoix has eight seasonal slips to be rented with the following stipulations: 

  • Four slips will be allocated for non-tax paying or non-resident boat owners. 
  • Four slips will be allocated for tax-paying or resident boat owners. 
  • The City also has two commercial seasonal slips. 

Please fill the form out and return it to the Recreation Department. New applications are placed at the bottom of the list. If the boater is contacted and offered slip and refuses, they are moved to bottom of list. The deposit is also non-refundable when the applicant voluntary withdraws from the waiting list.


The City Council sets the fees on an annual basis.
