The City of Charlevoix may advertise bids and requests for proposals on this portion of the web site.  City staff and elected officials strive to make financially responsible decisions in awarding bids to qualified businesses and making purchases by considering many factors such as cost, quality of work, time constraints, reputation, specialization, location, etc. 

Bids over $10,000 must be approved by City Council. 

Please be aware that the City has Local Bidders Preference Policy in place to support local businesses when practical and within specific financial guidelines.  This policy was passed on November 16, 2009 and is available online.  Please click here to download the policy.

Tree Planting for the City of Charlevoix


The City of Charlevoix will accept sealed proposals for the planting of trees within the ROW throughout the City.

These proposals will be accepted at the City Clerk’s office, 210 State Street, Charlevoix, MI 49720 until 2:00pm., Thursday, September 21, 2017.  Sealed proposals shall be clearly labeled “Tree Planting Proposal”.     Proposals received after 2:00pm will not be opened.

The City of Charlevoix reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive irregularities, and to accept the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Charlevoix.

The City reserves the right to reduce plant quantities as needed to stay within the approved 2017 budget for tree planting.

Request for Proposals

Lake Michigan Beach Park Enhancement Design 


The City of Charlevoix seeks qualified designers for Lake Michigan Beach Park.  Sealed proposals shall be submitted to the City Clerk’s office, 210 State St, Charlevoix, MI 49720 by 10:00 a.m., September 26, 2017 when they will be opened and publicly read aloud.  The exterior of the package must be clearly labeled “Lake Michigan Beach Park Design”. Emailed, faxed or late proposals will not be accepted.  The complete RFP may be viewed at RFP Document.

The City of Charlevoix is seeking sealed proposals from qualified firms to provide complete recodification services of the municipal code.  The complete RFP can be viewed here

Proposals should be mailed or hand-delivered in a sealed package to Joyce M. Golding, City Clerk, 210 State Street, Charlevoix, MI  49720.  The exterior of the package should clearly be labeled “Recodification Proposal”.  The proposals must be received by the the City of Charlevoix by 10:00 a.m. EDT on September 11, 2017, at which time proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.
